THE VALOUR MATRIX
A plane of existence beyond the bounds of time and space. It serves as an arena where warriors are summoned to battle for the chance to gain Valour—a supreme power that enables those gifted it to shape reality and claim their deepest desire.
The origins of the Matrix remain shrouded in mystery, and it is unknown whether entities govern its workings. Yet, throughout history, the power of the Valour Matrix has been revered, coveted by those who seek the power of valour for noble or nefarious purposes.
When the Matrix calls, it appoints one warrior as KING and summons four others to fight alongside them, bearing the titles of QUEEN, KNIGHT, BISHOP, and ROOK.
These titles are not bound by gender and may be bestowed upon any deemed worthy by the Matrix. The Matrix summons two such bands of warriors, each with these roles, to clash in a trial for Valour. The KING of the victorious side is granted their heart’s deepest desire.
